SFTP Setup

Secure File Transfer Protocols, also known as SFTPs, allow organizations to synchronize users from their source (HR system, demographic file, etc.) to Trivie.

The following details the process for a client to utilize Trivie's SFTP:

  1. Trivie creates a Private/Public Key pair and provides the private key to you
  2. Trivie sets up an AWS S3 bucket
  3. Trivie sets up an AWS IAM Policy
  4. Trivie sets up an AWS IAM Role
  5. Trivie creates an AWS Transfer home directory for the client
  6. You can then upload files to the AWS S3 bucket using the Transfer URL and private key Trivie provided

If you would like to use your own SFTP:

  1. You set up the SFTP server and provide Trivie with:
    1. The SFTP server URL
    2. The path and filename to the uploaded file on the SFTP server
    3. The username to login to the SFTP server
    4. The password to login to the SFTP server
  2. If you want PGP encryption, you will need to provide us with the private PGP key, and/or password to decrypt the file.

Once the above items are completed, you'll need to determine the following preferences:

  1. Whether you want a welcome email sent to all new users, including the time of day they want the email delivered
  2. Whether you want Trivie to delete users not present in the uploaded file
  3. The frequency you will deliver the file to Trivie
  4. The time of day that you will upload the file to the SFTP server
