How do I add users?

Getting Started

There are four ways to add users into Trivie:

  • Add users individually
  • Bulk import users via a CSV or Excel file
  • HR system integrations - this method is not covered in this article due to the varying nature of HR systems. Please contact support@trivie.com if you would like to know more about integrating with your HR system.
  • Self-registration with an Access Code. This allows users to visit play.trivie.com and register themselves using an Access Code that's unique to your company and provided to them in launch communication. This is a great way to invite users if you don't have their emails, or if you'd like to use Trivie live at an event. 

To get started with either of the first options, navigate to the People tab on the left-hand bar:

How do I add users individually?

1. Click on the Users tab in the top bar and then on the Create button:

2. Enter the user's first name, last name, and email address. ( Employee ID is optional.

3. Add the tags you would like associated with the user. Users can have multiple tags. Forget what a tag is? Check out Tags and Segments

4. You can choose to send, not send, or schedule a Welcome Email to the user you've just added. This will send user/s an automated email directing them to log into Trivie! 

How do I add users in bulk?

1. Under the People and Users tab, click on the Import People button in the top row:

and download Trivie's import template:

2. You can use this template to populate the user's information. When you open the template you'll see the following headers: 

You can add additional column identifiers and they will automatically add a Tag(s) to the user 

Be sure you have your segments and tag flow set up before uploading bulk users. This will guarantee all the tags route to the correct segments that are set up. Need a refresher on tags and segments? Check out What are tags and segments?

3. Save your file and upload it in the User tab

4. If you didn't send your Welcome Email automatically, you can select your new users via the checkbox and click Send Invite when you're ready.
